PPC for Contractors: Google & Meta

PPC for contractors, aimed at your best jobs.

Every click costs you money, so it should come from someone inside your service area looking for work you actually do. Our PPC for contractors covers Google Ads, Local Services Ads and Facebook, and we judge it by booked estimates, not clicks.

Free audit and strategy first. Ad spend stays separate from our fees.

Where ad budgets leak

A click from the wrong town still costs you.

Ad accounts often leak money in the same places: broad keywords that match jobs you don’t do, a radius that reaches towns you won’t drive to, and every ad sending people to the homepage.

Paid clicks from people you can actually serve.
Jobs you don’t do
“Cabinet hinge repair” and “handyman near me” keep triggering ads meant for full kitchen remodels.
Clicks from outside your area
Default location settings can show your ads to people who only showed interest in your area, not people who live there.
Leads that sit
A form comes in mid-afternoon while everyone is on a job, and nobody calls back until the homeowner has booked someone else.

What we manage

Every campaign
sells one kind of job.

We plan the keywords, ads, landing page and tracking for each service together. Roof replacement and gutter repair get separate campaigns, budgets and pages.

Budget & season planning

Monthly budgets set by service and season, so spend rises before your busy months and eases off when the schedule is full.

Google Ads by service

Separate campaigns for each job type, with negative keywords that filter out “DIY,” “how to,” “salary” and other searches that never become a job.

Local Services Ads

Setup and management of your LSA profile, service categories and job types, plus disputing leads that don’t fit where the platform allows it.

Facebook & Instagram ads

Project photos and short videos shown to homeowners in the areas you serve, for bigger jobs people plan for weeks, like remodels or new shades.

Landing pages per ad

Someone who clicks “bathroom remodel” lands on a bathroom page with a short form, not your homepage. New pages are scoped with you.

Call tracking

Tracking numbers and form tags on each campaign, so every call and form ties back to the ad, keyword and service behind it.

Ad spend is separate from our management fee. Both, plus any landing page or tracking work, are agreed in writing before a campaign goes live.

Search campaigns

Repair and replacement searchers want different things.

Someone typing “roof leak repair” wants a person on the roof this week. Someone typing “roof replacement cost” is comparing options and may ask about financing. Google Ads for contractors works best when each of those searches gets its own ad group, wording and landing page.

We then read the search terms report regularly and add negative keywords, pulling spend away from searches that bring calls you don’t want and toward the ones that book estimates.

Channel mix

LSA for the urgent call. Facebook for the long plan.

Local Services Ads usually sit above the regular results and charge per lead, not per click, which suits urgent calls. Facebook ads for contractors do a different job: they put finished kitchens and new shades in front of homeowners who aren’t searching yet.

The right mix depends on your trade, your ticket size and how long your customers take to decide. A roofer may lean on search and LSA; a remodeler may need both plus Meta. More budget won’t fix a weak offer or slow follow-up, so we look at those too.

Speed to lead

The ad did its job. Now the phone has to.

PPC leads tend to arrive while you’re on a roof or in a crawlspace. If the call goes to voicemail or the form sits until tonight, the homeowner often calls the next contractor on the list. We look hard at what happens in those first minutes.

Missed-call text-back, an instant reply to forms and a named owner for each new lead can all be set up as part of the plan. Your team still qualifies the job and books the estimate; the automation keeps the homeowner from wandering off.

Click to estimate

Contractor PPC, from click to estimate.

  1. Ad matches the search

The ad names the job and the area, so the right people click.

  2. Page matches the ad

A page for that exact service, with a call button up top.

  3. Call is tracked

Tracking tags the campaign and keyword behind it.

  4. Estimate is logged

Your team marks it booked, sold or not a fit.

Tracking & monthly reports

What did the ad budget actually buy?

Call tracking runs on every campaign, and each month you see spend, leads and cost per lead by service. Then we compare that with what your team says those leads became.

Spend by service
What each job type cost across Google, LSA and Meta.
Calls and forms
Tracked leads by campaign, with call recordings if you want them.
Cost per estimate
A better yardstick than cost per click or per lead.
Lead quality
Good fit, wrong area or tire-kicker, as your team records it.

Google and Meta count a “conversion” when a form is sent or a call lasts a set time. That isn’t a booked estimate. Tying ads to sold jobs depends on your team logging what happened after the call.

Getting started

Audit the account.
Then plan the spend.

If you already run ads, we start inside your account: search terms, locations, conversions and where the money went. If you don’t, we start with the services, towns and seasons you want to plan for.

  1. Free account audit

We go through your Google Ads, LSA and Meta accounts, landing pages and call tracking, and ask which jobs you’d like to book more of, how far you’ll drive and how many estimates your team can run in a week.

  2. Budget and campaign plan

We show you a campaign structure, a suggested monthly ad budget by season and what we’d fix first. Nothing paid starts until you sign off.

  3. Build and launch

With fees and ad spend agreed, we build the campaigns, landing pages and tracking, then test calls and forms end to end before the first ad runs.

  4. Manage and report

We adjust bids, keywords and budgets as the season and your schedule change, and pull spend back when your crews are booked solid. Each month you get a report and a short list of changes.

PPC questions from contractors

Before you
spend a dollar.

What contractors usually ask before handing us an ad account, answered plainly, including the “it depends” ones.

How much should we spend on PPC?

There’s no honest single number. It depends on your trade, how competitive your market is, what a click costs there, how many jobs your crew can take and what each job is worth to you. We build a budget from those numbers during the audit.

Local Services Ads or Google Ads: which is better?

Often both. LSA charges per lead and shows your reviews up top, which suits urgent calls. Search ads give you more control over keywords, pages and which jobs you push. Your trade and budget decide which one leads.

Should contractors use Google or Facebook ads?

Google first for most urgent work, since people are already searching. Facebook earns a place for planned projects like remodels and shades, where good photos start the conversation. Your jobs and budget decide the mix.

How fast will ads bring in calls?

Faster than SEO, but the first stretch is for learning. Ads can get clicks soon after approval; early weeks go to cutting bad searches and tuning bids. Call volume depends on your market and budget.

How do you judge lead quality?

By what the lead became, not just that it arrived. We tag each call and form by campaign, then check your team’s notes: right job, right area, booked estimate, sold. Spend moves toward the campaigns producing the good ones.

Can you promise a set number of leads?

No. A lead count alone says little about sales anyway. Volume depends on demand, competition, budget, season and how quickly your team answers. We report what happened, honestly, and adjust from there.
